How do I change the automatic windows update scheduler of my server?

If there is no WSUS plan on your server, you can adapt yourself the scheduler for the automatic windows updates.

Start the Local Group Policy editor using the command gpedit.msc (via start > run (Windows 2000/2003) or via the Start > command bar on Windows 2008 server)

The next screen will appear:
Navigate to Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Windows Update in the left table.

The next list will appear in the right frame:

Double click on “Configure Automatic Updates”. A window will appear where you can configure the settings of your automatic windows updates (day, time, ...):

Click Ok to confirm the changes.
