Telenet Cloud Online Help

Add a new domain name and confirm ownership

As a first step you need to prove you are the owner of the domain name by adding a verification record (TXT record) to the DNS server of the service provider that hosts your domain name.

Add a new domain name

  1. Login to MyAccount: Click Shared Hosting, click on your CloudOffice package

  2. Click on the action Manage associated domains

  3. This page will show an overview of the domains (= host headers) associated with your CloudOffice. Remember that “your-domain.be.co-telenet.be” can be used for testing. Click on Add a host header
  4. Fill in the new domain name and click Next step. You now have added a new domain name

  5. Continue when the pending task has been completed

Domain name managed externally

Create the verification record (TXT record)

  1. Login to MyAccount: Click Shared Hosting & click on your CloudOffice package
  2. Click on the action Manage associated domains
  3. Click on the new domain name under Current host headers

  4. Find the TXT record similar as the one shown in the screenshot above. This is the verification record.
  5. Add this TXT record on your DNS server. Not familiar with DNS? Instead of creating the verification record yourself, you can contact the company that hosts your DNS records and ask them to create the record for you. Here’s a sample message you can use when you contact them.

    Dear,
I’m using Microsoft Office 365 and would like to use my domain with it, but first Office 365 must verify that I own the domain name. To do this, I need to create a TXT or an MX record for my domain. Because you are my DNS hosting provider, could you please create the record for me? The record needs to include the information shown in the table below.

    Regards

Record type (choose one)

Alias or Hostname

Destination or Points to Address

TXT

@ or your-domain-name.be
